753bc: The Founding of Rome

343bc - 264bc: Unification of Italy
Rome started as a small city, but they made an alliance with the Latins. Shortly after, the Romans began to lead the Latins. In 343bc, the first Samnite War had started because the Romans decided to help Capua against the Samnites. 3 years later, in 340bc, the Latin War began because the Latins were upset that the Romans weren't listening to them. After 12 years, the second Samnite War started because both the Romans & the Samnites wanted to expand their land, basically wanted each-other's land. In 298bc, the third & last Samnite War continued because the Romans still wanted to expand their land & the Samnites had gotten new allies from the northern tribes. 10 years later, the Phyrric War had been started because the Tarentums sunk some of the Roman's ships. In 2 & a half centuries, the Romans had conquered Italy.

264bc - 146bc: Punic Wars
When Rome was done fighting for land, Carthage wanted to conquer the island of Sicily & that started the Punic War. Carthage lost & had to pay Rome back for starting the war. In the second Punic War, the Romans were worried about the Carthages being too strong & owning too much land, so they declared war. Rome was too focused on trying to beat the Carthage navy, that they didn't think that the Carthage made an army. Scipio Africanus brought the war to Africa, followed by the Rome. The Romans won, making the Carthage pay more than they did in the first war. The Romas had taken over most of the land that the Carthage had owned & the Romans had only kept them alive as slaves to take their money. In 146bc, the Carthage colony had fallen to the Romans.

73bc - 71bc: Spartacus' Slave Rebellion
As a slave, he was sold to a gladiator trainer & turned into a Roman gladiator. He's famous for starting a rebellion with slaves & made an army out of them. One of the main reasons why he did it was because he wanted his freedom. Spartacus started in Thrace, caused hell from there to Capua, Mount Vesuvius, and ended in Northern Italy. He was undefeated, until a group of pirates set him up. The gladiator was cornered & overwelmed; causing his downfall.

100bc - 44bc: Julius Caesar & His Historical Events
Julius Caesar was born in 100bc & became head of his household when he was 16 because his father had died. He joined the military tribune after doing some service in the army. He was popular with Plebians because of his people-friendly policies. Caesar, Crassus, & Pompey joined together & formed "The First Triumvirate". He was nominated for many important positions, but ended up being the Roman Dicator for 10 years & proved to be a great military battle strategist. He had brought stability to Gaul & conquered lands. Once Pompey had rebelled against Caesar, he had sent his spies to capture & kill him (Pompey). He had started the civil war & when the city was finally his, he took care of his veteran soldiers by giving them more land & money; & he had also reduced slavery.

37ad - 41ad: Caligula
He had stopped many taxes that Tiberius did. Gifts were given to people from Caligula to show that he appricated their cooperation. Caligula was assassinated & he had murdered his whole family to keep his power. He had many wives & got most of them pregnant. He was the third Roman emperor & was named Rome's most crazy emperor.

He had built Hadrian's wall, the Temple of Venus & Roma, & rebuilt the Pantheon. He had died suddenly because he had possible heart failure. He was known for effectively disciplining the army & improving Rome's prosperity & defense.

306ad - 337ad: Constantine
First Christian emperor that had built a new capital in Byzantium/Constantinople.

300ad - 476ad: The Fall of Rome
The giant empire of Rome had split into a Eastern & Western Rome. The Eastern half had become Byzantium which was ruled by Constantine & the Western half was kept as Italy. Rome had fallen because of all the Christianity, decadence, & military issues. Another reason to Rome's downfall was because of slavery. Since slaves would always be doing work, the people of Rome would be unemployed; which caused the people to freak out & go against each-other, in need of a job.
